introducing a new series known as 'Monkeyboy Reviews'. its where i review everything that i have bought recently and the first item up for review will be.... MetallicA's brand new album 'Death Magnetic'.
firstly, lets give some of the public opinions gathered upon hearing the new album.
from ms sharon of seletar estates upon knowing that the cd will be played, 'mus we do it now?!!' with a 'loud music again/stupid teck' look.
ms xiu hui of joo seng rd had the following comments upon hearing the first track, 'its jus noise' and 'can we have some real music pls?'
ms yvoone of serangoon north commented, 'thats kinda noisy ah'.
as for ms elene of pasir ris, lets jus say she was so engrossed with not damaging the paper rose she was trying to make, she couldnt care less.
mr joshua and mr sahfahri from serangoon ave 4 and serangoon central gave no comments although most likely they have gotten enuff of these nonsense to make any real protests abt it.
lastly. mr chin teck from serangoon north was so ecstatic upon hearing the name of MetallicA, he couldnt stop grinning to himself.
seems like the early comments for the new album has generally received a approval rating of below 2 against a scale of 10. but over here at 'Monkeyboy Reviews', i have to say, public opinions couldnt be more wrong. this album rocks so much, i couldnt keep my socks on at all. a definite middle eastern influence could be heard on the album and riffs come so fast, the F-16s would have a hard time catching up to it.
the playing abilities of Hetfield, Ulrich, Hammett and Trujillo has definitely not slowed with age. solos come in perfectly with Hammett totally unleashing them after being forced to keep them in for the previous album, the disastrously bad sounding 'St. Anger'. Hetfield once again impresses with his growl although we all know that vocals has nv been a forte of MetallicA's. what's truly great abt this album is the fact that MetallicA shows why they are still the kings of thrash and why nobody comes close to even their leg hair or 'kar mor' as more commonly known. after the debacle of St. Anger, critics has pointed out that age may have mellowed MetallicA. well, it seems like this is a point across to all naysayers that MetallicA has not mellowed, rather, they have jus gotten stronger and better as they embrace life with kids and less touring. heres a list of recommended tracks for all interested in this new album,
1. That Was Just Your Life 2. The End of The Line 3. Broken, Beat & Scarred 4. The Day that Never Comes 5. All Nightmare Long 6. Cyanide 7. The Unforgiven III 8. The Judas Kiss 9. Sucide & Redemption 10. My Apocalypse
errr, i think that was all the tracks that are on Death Magnetic which means, GET THE ALBUM!!! and according to reports, they are currently the best selling band for this yr with the album only released less than 3 weeks ago. and thus, 5 bananas out of 5 bananas. there you have it, the conclusion of the first ever (and probably last ever) article from 'Monkeyboy Reviews'.
- Editor, Monkeyboy Chan out. (all names used in the above article are tongue in cheek and comments are not to be taken seriously, should anybody feel offended by the article, well.... theres not a thing u can do abt it, unless u have bananas for sale/bribe.)
hahaha, ok lar. enuff nonsense from me. honestly, this new album from MetallicA is power ah, i know i mentioned in the previous post but i still mus say, its great man. metal fans get it for its definitely the best metal album of this decade and non metal fans, u have 2 choices, either stay away or listen to it and u'll be hooked like the fishes at fish and co. and hor, i really dunnoe which track to recommend lor, cos they are all good. personal favs are,The End of The Line, The Day That Never Comes, The Unforgiven III, The Judas Kiss and Sucide & Redemption.
hehehe, this vid here was done by elene and saf ah. damn funny can. at least for us lar. it parodies me, xh and yvonne and mr selamat. creativity to the max from them ah. go have a look and pass it on? if response is good, we may have a 2nd season? =)
