well well well, its day 0 + 8 ah so i'll try my best to recollect wadever i can of the concert ya. interesting thing was Best suffered a blown tyre at ECP ah, stranded with phone no batt, totally cannot contact him, everybody gan cheong like nothing lar. luckily he made it in time though.
anyhow, beyond started the concert with a bang ah, Suicide and Redemption by MetallicA was played before they came out ah, cool shit rite? power lar. anyhow, i expected like maybe ah paul and sai wing coming out tog and singing a few songs tog den break solo parts but dun have leh. it was 1hr of sai wing followed by 1hr of ah paul den encore part with 45mins of Beyond. have to say im kinda disappointed, cos i expected them to sing more songs tog but ended up only 45mins of combined effort. but still, it was freaking high ah, me and colin kenna chase by usher to sit down at our seats lar. sucks, cannot get the mood up. it was great to see the crowd singing along though, songs like, Amani, 海闊天空, 不再犹豫, 真的爱你 and 岁月无声 was the high point of sing alongs. think ah paul is the obvious crowd fav ba, when he came out the screams blew thru the roof ah and he even played a guitar part with his teeth ah, behind Kirk Hammett, he's like my fav guitarist le, can be considered a virtuoso too ba.
and i loved it when ah paul sang 情人, so soulful lar, reminds me of ka kui. but honestly, they jus doesn seem to capture the song as well as ka kui did, something abt ka kui's voice that jus makes the song so much better, so much more emotion in the song ba. and the fact that he wrote most of Beyond's songs and they are still popular today proves something. and its his voice definitely lar, super rock songs, ballads, all good lar. here's some evidence.

午夜怨曲, well i dunnoe how to explain, very deep song, interpret it urself ba.
Amani, anti-war song, written right aft they visited africa, peace lovers too man. its abt the situation in africa ah, asking for peace and when will the war ever end, and in the end, its the kids who suffer becos of the war.
i guess the reason why the songs of Beyond are so popular is becos it strikes a chord with the general population ba, the struggles of the common citizen, and the striving to make our lives better.
this is random but i jus realised the bands that i really really like actually all lost one of their most influential members to the God of Death; MetallicA lost Cliff Burton and Beyond lost Ka Kui well, wad a strange coincidence, i guess thats wad makes their rise even more intriguing ba.
